Reasons you aren’t losing Fat….Part 1

There are a lot……

Don’t worry I’m not going to stop there šŸ™‚

In all seriousness, there are lots of different reasons why someone (Male or Female) can struggle to lose Fat.

Notice I say FAT and not WEIGHT.

2 vastly different things.

Here’s an idea of some of the things that contribute to your Bodies WEIGHT:

Bones

Muscles

Fat

Skin

Organs

Water

Minerals in your Bones

Blood

Plasma (in your Blood)

Hair

Connective Tissue………

I’ll stop there.

My point is, when you get on the Scales, all those things are being weighed and the scales don’t care what’s going up and what’s going down, only your mind is bothered about that.

Let me put this into perspective a little bit;

Monday, a person weighs them self at the end of the day, they’ve eaten 4 awesomely clean meals and drank 3 litres of water.

Tuesday, same person weighs them self at the end of the day, they’ve eaten 4 awesomely clean meals, drank 2 litres of water – they will most likely weigh a little less.

But why !?

Well it’s most likely, because they have taken in less external volume of water, not because they have less FAT.

The Scales are one of many tools to use – so treat them that way.

Right – lets talk about that thing that we actually want to get rid of: BODY FAT.

There are 2 types (for those who don’t know): Subcutaneous (under the skin) and Visceral (around the Organs)….

Neither are especially good, Visceral more so.

And by lowering our overall Body Fat % (I use Calipers regularly with Clients to assess this) we make a very positive change to our Body Composition & our Health.
